Rhythmus Screw
tops fascinate me because of their colours and shapes. I layer those closures
with their regularly striated edges on top of each other and melt them
together in the way that it is not visible from the outside. Stacked caps
turn into new small containers of their own. The caps do not only close
something but also contain. The light
volumes are being cast in silver. The casting stays raw, only the sprues are
cut off. The recipients are reduced to their outer shape, which is emphasised
by the black oxides from the casting process. The precise chamfers of the
stacked closures create an own vertical rhythm. The weight of the silver
containers feels nicely holding them in the hand. Using these recipients the
oxides are going to wear off with the time and the silver will appear - the
user is leaving his or her traces. |
