Kulturlandschaften
The works
are an attempt to reproduce idyllic moments through pictures on
elliptical-shaped stones. . The connection to the images is personal. The
pictures are scratched into gemstones, which I shaped myself. Pressure has to
be applied to scribe the stones – a contrast to their soft shape and
colour. The drawing is visible through the stones, entirely or partially. The
square-edged of the picture turns out to be a bit unclear and therefore
romanticized. Nothing can be erased once it is scratched into the stone. The inclusions
in the gemstone and the drawing melt together to an idyllic unity. |
